Statement
Since I was young, film has intrigued me with the idea of leaving your own reality and becoming engrossed in a fictional world. I began learning by attending community college. This school supplied me with the needed materials to discover who I was artistically. Would I be an editor, writer, producer, or director? I began by learning Avid Media Composer. The complex software uncovered the endless possibilities there truly was to creating a work of moving images. This led me to discover producing and directing. In a series of short films at Savannah College of Art and Design, my role was as producer. I was in charge of both the creative and administrative aspects. Being the leader adds an immense amount of pressure, however it becomes extremely exhilarating when all is completed. As I continued experimenting in the field I took the role as director of a live cooking segment of a show. Out of everything I had done, being in the studio directing the production team during a live show was incredible. There’s no room for errors, which creates a euphoric atmosphere of anxiety and excitement. In the end, it is undeniably amazing seeing a figment of your imagination come to life through hard work and a large group effort. With that said, art makes a greater impact when it has a piece of you in it. In the future, I would like to include themes of important topics, such as sexuality, addiction, politics, and coming of age. These are themes that have plagued my life thus far and have affected many other as well. Concepts like such add dimension to a characters and a script at large. My future is bright and I look forward to working in such a creative field.
